have 1988 130 yamaha are there any powerhead interchangeable or does is need to be a yamaha

must be a yamaha. nothing else I am aware will fit. it can be a 115 or a 130 and in the marine tech guide is a list of year ranges that will interchange.

any yamaha dealer should have a copy. there is a power head and lower unit interchange guide in it. you dont need to own a copy just look at the proper page.
