i have a 1999 125 merc. the question is, when i press the key in on the ignition, does it chock the engine, or does it prime fuel into the cylinders. either way, how can i tell if it is working or not. <br /><br />thanks
It's actually a primer. You can check to make sure it's working by pulling the cowl off and listening for the solenoid to click when you push the key in.
Dingbat, I have a 2001 mercury 75 horse, engine. Where would the primer solenoid be located? What could some of the possible causes be if you don't here it clicking when you push the ignition switch in?
