200 hp mercury 2000 model

Hi there I am thinking of getting a brand new 200 hp mercury outboard engine 2000 model, carbureted.<br />Is it going to be ok to use the new engine after 2 years in the stores, am I going to have any problem with it, if so what are the problem? The engine is never been used, and I want to make sure that it will bee ok before I buy it thank you

avionics,<br /><br />Pay close attention to the cooling water output. <br /><br />Engines that set for extended periods, even new ones, can sometimes have water pump maladies.<br /><br />The rubber impeller may have taken a "set".

We just got a bullentin on this at work I think it also says to rebuild the fuel pump can't remeber at home right now
