i bought some evinrude parts off ebay and inc. were two carbs for 55 hp 2 cyl rude. they look exactly like carbs on my 77 55. however they dont have choke butterflies nor are there any holes for butterflies.numbers on them are c1329627. itloks like they never made it too choke drilling table during assembly. the throttle arms appear to be cast from stainless and seem much sturdier than others ive ever seen. anyone know what the heck i have here? i cleaned them and gonna see how the run, ive got nothing but time so here i go. i hope they start w/o a choke.

Welcome to the forum!

I think they are made to fit motors equiped with primer solonid.

Primer shoots a bit of gas into the intake manifold that carbs bolt up to.

Good luck!

Ok that makes sense, but I dont have a primer solenoid nor a manifold to add one. Doesnt really matter cause it has been starting after a few cranks w/ idle lever up and runs like a raped ape with these carbs. it does idle a little rough but i dont think it has anything to do w/ no choke. I do see that it has removeable plugs on body at rear of orifice hsg, or i think that is what they are for. Either way its a happy ending for me!!
