Yep, as long as its a 2000 225 carb'd model. Youll need the lower retainer cap from the 2000 crank too. Now when you say "piston rods" we assume you mean the rods. The rods are different (lighter) but if you use all 6 youre OK. If youre asking about the pistons, yes. They are different too but you can use them.<br /><br />In fact I would use pistons from a 93-00 motor in the 89 even if youre replacing all 6.
