Problem: Check engine light & buzzer erupted at 3/4 throttle, engine all the way down (cutting waves) 3.5 miles out in bass boat. Shut down, re-start, no probs-like nothing happened. fished all day

Must've had something blocking the water pump intakes. Probably fell off when you shut the motor off. That reset the SLOW feature off and away you went. Catch anything?

Had a good catch in the box, however couldnt help but ponder the engine light which spoiled it (very slightly). I was in extemely clear h20 running about 45mph, hard to imagine clogged intakes, the engine never got hot according to the dummy light.

Had the engine serviced, said it was a timing problem. Did a tune up while I was at it. Have yet to go back out b/c of weather.

The CHECK ENGINE lite means there is a fuel restriction, not an overheat. Bouncing around offshore could have stirred up trash in the fuel tank. A filter could be getting plugged or a hose got kinked a bit. Another item on bass-boats is a fuel-selector swtich not fully opened on boats with dual tanks.

Good Point SEA Horse, we were bouncing around quite a bit and it was the first time this year she'd been on the big water. I'll check my fuel system-especially the filters.
