35 hp, and runs like the wind, but it idels real good and then it will cough and quit? starts back up and runs for a while and does the same thing,, other than that it runs great,, hate to toss the ole girl out or is she just tired? <br />any tips,, thanks

Take your carbs apart and give it/them a clean..<br /><br />sounds like dirt in idle jets or similiar...<br /><br />rgds<br /><br />frank

or it could be a coil shorting out when heated up. What do they look like -- cracks in the covering? They are available (e.g., NAPA).

Hi Redwolf,<br /> Before you start digging into the carb, try backing the low speed adjustment out 1/8 turn (counterclockwise). If that makes no difference, then go ahead with the carb dissasembly and cleaning.<br />- Scott
