Large diameter, high output stator

Looking for large diameter (about 10") stator assembly. In the 60 amp range . Maybe a 20 amp and a 40 amp. Working on a custom hot rod that is getting a custom flywheel.

So since I have to make a custom flywheel, may as well put magnets in it and use it to generate power and ditch the alternator

If you know of any used in outboards or even industrial motors, point me in the direction.

Found this one. Almost big enough for go around the crank flange.

from memory , the Suzuki DF 250 has quite a large stator.

ill go up the shed later when it cools down a bit (39c here ATM) and see if i still have one in spares

been up the shed and the Suzuki stator has gone so a measurement is not going to happen .
a 4 stroke Yamaha is too small .

Think the Suzuki 32120-93J00 stator is under 6" across. the package it comes in is 5.93" x 5.93" However, thanks for the direction to look.

Still looking at stator charge systems. need an ID of 5" or larger to clear the seal boss. preferably greater than 6

OK, so a bit renewed interest in the stator concept.

Since I am now going with a 7-1/4" triple disc button clutch, there is room to mount a magnet ring

the largest stator I found for an industrial engine is a 60 amp for Kohler engine


I can work with the OD.... but


the issue is the 2.75" ID

no way the HTOB fits in there.




So I went down a rabbit hole of looking on ebay

so looking at a 40hp stator, the diameter works, however the output is seriously low (rated at 16 amps)






So now to find a 60 amp or higher outboard stator.

maybe look at the mercruiser 3.7 liter one?

plenty of room under the Jeep / mopar bellhousing as I have to run a spacer between the trans and HTOB

so mercury has a 40 amp stator.

but its 3 separate circuits





The JohnyRude stator is just a tad bit bigger, however only 35 amps.

most are small because the DC inverter generators are on the smaller portable size.

I thought about that after the fact. My bad.

Only other thought is like a stator drive from a washing machine as they are in the 800 watt range some of them... they're also large. I've seen 1000w stators for the side by side like things but I suspect that would be too small.

Take a good look at a stator.-----Consider making one to suit your needs.----Nothing but magnet wire wound on some metal bits.
