Not sure what you are saying about a " float catching"----Used factory carburetor kit or something cheaper?

So these carbs im not sure what kits were used on them. I just did a quick inspection and shot cleaner threw the jets to confirm everything flowed and on they went.

But they have plastic pins for the float pivots? Not sure if they're factory or not but on one carb it is definitely "catching" getting stuck when the float wants to drop or float up.

Last time out I noticed if I whipped a quick sharp turn it would starve and when WOT. If I kept it cruising 3/4 throttle it ran alright and didn't need the primer held in to keep it from starving.

I did take them back apart and one float was set significantly higher. I guess im my haste to install them i missed it. But when adjusting that float and flipping the carb over i noticed it would catch. I took it apart again and put the pin in from the other end. Seemed to fix it? Didn't catch anymore anyways. Havent been to the lake yet to re test yet.

I had a sticky float ......turned out the inside of the brass seat had crap built up on the insides where the needle goes in , the (triangular ) needle edges had worn 3 stripes in the crap 120⁰ apart (down to the brass ) and as long as the needle sat with the edges lined up with the stripes the needle was free but if it wasnt lined up the 🤬🤬 thing would stick .
I used half a cotton bud with autosol metal polish on it in a drill to clean out the seat 😁
