I am looking at replacing my anchor line. Rainier Supply of Seattle Washington has a spool of one half by three hundred feet for a very reasonable price. I am wondering if anyone has used their products. Reviews are mostly good but a few have complained about fraying and poor reliability. Any feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dan T.

When I look at reviews I consider that over half the people that leave a bad review missed out on the Darwin theory.

A lot depends on use, salt or freshwater only. Can't say I have ever worn thru an anchor line, but I only boat in fresh water and my line is stored in a locker, never left in the sun. I would ask if it is a Chinese um brand or a good quality american.

It is american made, nylon double braid,it is for salt water. My current line is poly and about 30 years old, still seems ok but I think it is time.

Surprised you got that kind of life from poly rope. I also prefer the double braid as it is much easier on the hands than twisted rope. You didn't say the cost but whatever it is, it sounds like good stuff.

With further research I find that this line is Chinees, infact it seems that all anchor line on amazon is made in china. I will continue my search. Btw, my old line is about 30 years old but spent the first 25 on a .spool in a shed.

You spelled Netherlands wrong. LOL

when it comes to marine line, the best come from the Netherlands, or Netherland based companies in the US. you wont find this rope on Amazon, Anchor.com, etc.

Gee, about 6 years ago i bought 300' of 1/2 three strand nylon anchor line off the 'net for $40. It is much stronger and longer than I need for my 21 footer in the ocean. The quality is fine, and I do care if it is Asian or European.

I've had great luck with my chinesium braided nylon ropes. It all looks like new after 10+ years use, so I don't hesitate to buy more.

I'm amazed your anchor locker is big enough on a 21' boat to handle 300' of 1/2 line.
