more hull painting questions

I am wondering if I take the paint all the way off down to bare wood can I use bondo to make the hull smooth prior to sanding, cleaning, priming, sanding, cleaning, priming, sanding, cleaning, painting, light sanding, cleaning painting? Thanks for any help

See I told ya!! Just don't use bondo below the waterline.. he gets soft and falls out...
