I am in the process of replacing the carpet in an aluminum boat and need some help.

As you will be able to tell I am looking for the easy way out!! Is there anything that will dissolve carpet glue from an aluminum boat surface.

Dissolve, Not sure. Remove, Yes. I've used an angle grinder with a stiff wire brush & it worked pretty good.

I have also used the stiff wire brush and angle grinder works well. After your done you can then wash down with water and clean up the dust. After you have everything clean you can trowel on your glue and then lay your carpet.

That is the easy way. :D
Just be sure to use a good dust mask, eye goggles, a long sleeve shirt, pants, and gloves. those wires can and will embed in your fingers. I know. :(

I just did mine with a wire wheel, scrapers and a skil RA sander with lots of sand paper.I also used my dremel tool in some tight spots.
