Re: Project Shanana

Cheers for that. It doesnt look much for 16 months work but the boat is at our beach home about 1.5 hours away from home so I only get to work on it at weekends.
Also had a few months off the project due to some surgery on my hand that derailed the work plans somewhat.
However we are back into it now and some good progress has been made this week.

Regards
Peter

Nice work, peterf. Are you working off of a plan you conceived yourself?

Beautiful. Looks really good. Love the console layout and really love the wiring job you did on those batteries!

Re: Project Shanana

No plans boomyal, all in the head but using ideas picked up from wherever.
I work in the Auto (Construction Equip.) industry so I have access to good components for everything I need. We have our own auto electricians at work. Most of the purchases are at trade cost so I figure that I can use good gear and it will be a one off expense then.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Peter

Re: Project Shanana

DJ, hi there.
All the edges are still very rough but the basic construction is complete. I am trying to turn this old ship into something that will suit our needs for a few years to come.
I have to start back onto the port side bulkhead and finish it today.
The basic instruments that are for the I/O are used again. I have added
1: Hourmeter
2: Voltmeter
3: Fuel guage
4: Gas / fume detector
5: Replacement speedo head
6: Compass

Peter

Re: Project Shanana

Hi there Triton II.
Thanks for that. At least our son may be cheaper but heaven forbid if he picks a "British Subject"

He just paid out 1200.00 UK pounds for his airfares home from LOndon to be with us for 3 weeks.
At least he is enjoying the beach and our summer now instead of the UK winter.

I measured 48deg C ground temps here today. Air temp was 29C.
Finally summer arrives YEH.

Regards

Peter

Re: Project Shanana

Nice work. Especially on the bulkheads. Can't wait to see some pics of the interior with the new raised cabin roof in place. Are you re-using the old windows or making new ones?

Re: Project Shanana

Mark42,
Thanks for the words. There is still nothing in the interior as yet. I have a pencil line around the inside of the cabin just above the chine line to build the bunks to, but that part is yet to come.
The old windows were laminated glass and totally wrong shape for now.
Soooooo all new, probably in Polycarbonate Plastic and I will fix them to the cabin sides with Eurothane Sealant as per auto windscreens.
No more leaks!!!!

Peter
