I'm sorry, but some of these post are so hard to understand only because posters do not know how to use a comma or a period! If you are going to ask for help we need to know where your sentences start and stop. Some of the posts can be read ten different ways!!!

So, please use some punctuation so we can at least figure out what you are saying!!!

Sorry for the rant, but it drives me crazy 😬

For the record I agree with you. But I fear you're tilting at windmills.

On a side note I've always been a big WWII aviation buff. And I used to be involved with a few computer combat flight simulators and their forums. One of which was concerned with the Battle of Britain. I swear that forum was entirely peopled with retired English professors. You really had to be on your game in the punctuation and grammar dept. or you would get your virtual knuckles rapped with a ruler daily.

Cheers.......................Todd

Hmmmm, I Thought my sister in law was in Europe right now?

Is your SIL my wife, MT? :behindsofa:

Live with it, tacx. Schools just ain't what they used to be and standards are lowered every year.

If you don't understand a post - Ask. I think I saw the latest example and I said not worth the bother to decipher

If you have been on the net as long as I have, you learn how to read the language of the internet, I don't ever worry about it anymore.

In the old Internet days, posts were more readable. Then came texting and Twitter and these things - 😹

Been on this site, off and on, since day one. Several different handles.

It has become worse than ever. Not the site, the ability of guests to communicate.

This probably belongs in Dockside Chat as a Rant!

I was in the Army way to long, I pretty much learned how to listen and read anything that someone wrote!

Action reports were always interesting!!!!

:faint2:
.
I was also stationed in Hawaii for a good amount of time, learning to listen to some of those folk!

Just have to train your brain.

In addition to the punctuation, there is the spelling.

Now, I’m not the world’s most literary person, and spell-check features sometimes do more harm than good, but some of the stuff that gets written is mind boggling. Do the authors actually think that they are writing real words. :noidea:

Then, there is word usage . . .

You’re vs. your . . .

There, their, they’re . . .

etc.

Yep, prolly drives me absolutely crazy. Then there's to and too. A LOT of people mess that one up. Then and than.....etc...etc. what's at fault? Spell correct software, speech conversion and yes, our schools really suck. They know nothing about history, current events or math either. Try and give that cashier a few cents to round off your change and they will be baffled. Jay Leno use to do that thing where he asked common questions of people on the street. It was hilarious, but quite sad. Most of them were college students.

PC culture and "no child left behind". Little Johnny keeps failing his tests. We don't want to hurt his feelings or deal with his enabling parents, so we give him a pass. It's beginning to build up to a dumb society.

The lack of typing classes, shop classes along with enabling parents and the lackadaisical attitude of todays youth has produced the next generation......

The world is suffering and the lack of punctuation, improper spelling and inability to write are only the tip of the iceberg

Another thing that bugs me is the title of posts. Don't just write "need help". Please give some sort of description of what you need help with. You'll get more people to respond.

Or a thread title of "john doe" or "jim smith", the posters name!

Moving this to Dockside.
