Trim switch replacement 88688A25 - A27

Trying to figure out how to get the cover (item 5) off the trim switch (item 4) so I can replace it. Tried a little screw driver, a little channel locks and so far nothing. Could squeeze down hard but might break it. Already bought the switch, and should be simple if the cover will come off. Who knows it might be glued on, was thinking it was a snap lock kind of thing. Looking for ideas

The ones on my controls were glued on, but I think they had already been removed for a repair. I had one come off and just glued it back on . . . and worked a little Silicone II into the seam to make it flush looking.

Wonder if a heat gun would cause it to break free?

Maybe, but I'd be worried about having it melt from too much heat.

Well it's off and yes it did melt a bit, so I need another cover. Works fine will order another
