Faded ID plate on Yamaha

Trying to order carb kit for a boat I just picked up but can't make out the letter on plate that tells me the year. On the other side is a plate that says manufactured on 10/97 but it seems to be a 1998. It is a C75TLR. I don't want to order the wrong carb kit. Any suggestions?

R is 1993
V is 97
W is 98

I know what year each letter stands for. The letter that tells the year is not legible.

You could take the carb apart first, then start searching for a carb rebuild kit.
You know what all the gaskets and parts look like then.
Then match up the new carb kit,they show you all the parts in the kit online, it becomes very obvious, oh this is my carb rebuild kit.

Seems you confused me with this statment.

Motors built in 97 can be 98 models and being that close to the end of year I would say it is a 1998
