I purchased a Thompson Carrara 2000 recently. Can anyone tell me who really manufactured this boat in 1994. it looks like these boats were built in several locations by different builders

If I'm not mistaken that was kind of a re-birth of Thompson.

Chris Craft owned 'em for a while, but all that really died in the 1980s. Thompson tried to come back to life on it's own under a new owner, but never really got production in full swing again.

Sorta thought that. I think Thompson boats were manufactured under Cruisers Inc for awhile

I think it was more that they were related than built by. All of those guys were family.

I just bought it. It is a Carrara 2000 with a 4.3 Mercruiser. It is a beautiful boat with all original unblemished interior. I believe these boats are good solid boats. Any thoughts. I am very new to boating. They sure don't work like the airplanes I fly. Much more difficult

I have an '87 Thompson Cutlass that had one owner until I bought it last year from him. Other than the interior needing replaced, everything has been solid. It also helps that the boat was well taken care of.
In this time, I have only seen one other Thompson on water or on land. Definitely not common whether original Thompson boats or the later years.

This boat is definitely in great shape. It was a one owner since 1994 and garage kept and never left sat in the Bay water.. 4.3 mercruiser. Where are you located?

Pictures man, pictures!!

Thompsons have always been nice boats, though most of the ones I've known have been older. Condition is key to used boats anyway - so if it was well cared for, then brand is a secondary thing.

Whaddya' fly?

Sonarai are neat lookin' airplanes, but I've never been around one. Spent a buncha' time in 172s though (back seat, I'm not a pilot).
