i ran aground......not bad......didn't stall engine and got out in a minute or so. wasn't going fast either. got back into some deeper water and started getting an alarm after cruising for a minute or so. all gauges read ok. when alarm sounds engine cuts out for a second.......alarm sounds randomly. was wondering if anyone knew how to pull codes out. I heard of a way with a test light. the boat is a 97 wellcraft eclipse with a 5.7lx TBI engine/Alpha Gen II. like I said all gauges read ok and didn't have this problem before I ran aground.

Could use an engine serial number to determine what sensors you may have. Is the alarm a solid sound or a beep every few minutes/seconds? Have you checked the drive lube bottle?

0k07340. Yes checked all fluids first thing. When alarm comes on it is solid for like a second then goes out. And it comes on completely random. And when alarm sounds engine cuts out for a second. Doesn't stall. I'm thinking maybe mud/sand clogging system?

The serial number is missing a digit but were close enough (0Kxxxxxx six digits). I'm figuring a the temp sensor on the thermostat housing is seeing extra heat and the computer is retarding timing. The sensor is the one on the housing with the Yel and Blk wires coming from it. The mud and sand is probably were your issue is, may be some clogging up around the thermostat housing. Would be a good idea to pull the housing off and flush everything out. Remove the hose off power steering cooler to the drive so you don't push everything back to the pump. Would also be a good idea to check the impeller. The impeller in the Gen 2's last much longer but sand can wipe them out fairly quick

That's what I was figuring. I will flush out in next day or so. Thanks for the input. Also both water pumps new, drive and circle pump. But will post findings. Thanks again

Update..... So I figured that it is actually dropping power, kinda like turning key off momentarily. The one relay under flip up panel clicks when alarm sounds and cuts out. I am gonna try bypassing the ignition key and see if it still does it. Keep you guys posted.....
