Have you checked the Springfield scratch and dent store? http://www.springfieldmarinescratchanddent.com/servlet/StoreFront you might find a good deal on seats for your Painted Aluminum Vessel :)

Funny I was in that scratch dent section an hour ago. I put a setup in my Amazon cart with 2 day free Prime shipping. But just before I entered the order the small print said 1-4 months delivery estimate
I don't need this casting seat for ice fishing :D

+1. I thought I wanted one of those "leaner" seats a lot of bass boats use up forward. You don't really sit in it, just rest your "buttox" against/on it. So I bought one and installed it......butt said no way jose. Lasted about 5 minutes.

Thx for those replies. Finally decided on this style casting butt seat.
Interesting unique design that while talking with the Springfield rep this AM he told me this seat used to only come on Ranger boats but now they can sell them individually.

For my needs I like the ball and socket design which allows the seat full range of positions. Unlike the average static butt seat with this model I can move it to a space saving almost flat position for storage in my 15 foot rig where space is at a premium.

Amazon gets $217 plus tax or around 236. http://www.amazon.com/Springfield-Ma...ld+pro+fishing

The Springfield rep can view all their distributors and pointed me to a site that is selling them for like $155 no tax and $20 SlowPS shipping.

For $173 it ships in maybe 10-15 days. Saved me like $61 over Amazon. Thats a Nice piece of change! For that price if I don't like it I could sell it on ebay for more than I paid for it, since this time of year some boating accessories are in high demand.

Recently on my second boat with my second set of Tempress seats.

I think the two other seats I bought for my boat when it was new and only came with two seats so I added two Tempress models. They have held up well over the past 7 years so far. I saw they also made butt seats, but I finally went with the Springfield model.
Thx for your input.

New butt seat came today. Really a quality build. I've always found Springfield's products to be of decent quality for the money spent. Sites say it only comes in two colors Mica (tan) and charcoal gray. Most pics show the gray as almost black. But the actual box shows the true grey color where most websites don't.

It is actually just medium to dark grey which was exactly what I wanted as it matches my rig perfectly.
I also already own two Springfield air ride adjustable seat posts and have been very happy with them.

Of course I can't try it out as I left the boat at the repair shop yesterday after my vacation for them to diagnose water seeping into the lower unit gear oil.

If anyone asks me what it is . . . since it looks like a small satellite dish on a pole on my front casting deck . . . I'll just tell them it really is a satellite dish, so when the fishing gets slow I can pull in the "real house wives of beverly hills" on my combo FF/GPS screen.
If they are dumb enough to ask, than they are probably dumb enough to watch those types of reality tv shows

But check out the features of this style in the pics below compared to those triangle style butt seats:
