Hot Foot spring trouble??

I could not get my engine to go back to Idle, so I decided to take a closer look at the Hot Foot set up and noticed that the return spring touches the cable and will not let it return all the way. Anyone else had any trouble with this??

I've got no issues with my HotFoot. I'm guessing something isn't mounted correctly, but can't imagine what. A photo would help, but really there's not that much to them.
