Re: potential project boat

Um from the picture it looks like they strapped it so tightly that it somehow bent the cap and the rubrail and who knows what else.. so that might be tricky. other than that you have to look for the softspots and see if the transom is wet..

That engine should be easy i have one kind of like it and it started easily after one part.

It looks like it could be pretty good i would just be worried about that bend.

First off, there is no such thing as a 56' Glastron. The First year they were made was 57' and only roughly 300 were produced that year.

Unique looking unit. You'll get a lot of dockside conversation over that hull design!

Cool style, but sounds like it will take a lot of work. If you really want to put the time & $$ in, definitely a good price, I'd say. It will definitely be a conversation starter.

Re: potential project boat

Well it did not work out for me

we had agreed on a price and I forwarded payment to the owner

but come to find out he had the boat on his parents property and they wanted it gone ASAP

I had went ahead and gone home and cleared the garage and was ready for the boat but he needed it gone that day, had someone else willing to take her home on the spot

Cannot say I blame him, and is probably for the best as I already have my fishing boat project in work

Since I live 2 miles from the columbia river, probably makes sense to get my fishing rig finished first...plus this makes the wife happy as she does not quite understand the old boat restoration disease :D

Hopefully the new owner spends the time to restore her back to her original glory as nothing catches my attention more than one of the old finned boats

You will enjoy the tinny way more anyway! I would be afraid to let people touch a restored glasstron such as the one above, and by no means do I ever think I would put it in the water. That is a pretty boat, too pretty for the water.

I have to agree with you

especially here on the Columbia, still would love to have her

Looking forward to getting my tinny on the water next year, some great fishing awaits me
