06 Yamaha HPDI 175 Oil tank will not fill resivor on motor. Even the switch on the side will not work on it. I have fill it manually. I was told that the trim sensor on the motor could be bad because it was tied into the oil pump. Is this so. If yes what is the sensors location? Thanks alot for the comments.

it's either the wire harness from the motor to the oil tank(corroded/faulty), the float switch in the oil tank or the pump motor itself.
i don't think the engine trim sensor plays a role in that year/model. read up though.
you should be able to test with a DVM at the harness.

some one done tole ya wrong.
the trim sensor is NOT used for any oil functions on yamaha V6 motors after 1995 and was never used on the 3.1L.
do you have a multimeter?
