There are also brass ones too..

I wouldn't use those on an aluminum boat. There are aluminum ones that would be fine. I used the plastic ones on mine well sealed with 5200 and they work very well and are a snap to install.

Re: Boat Deck Repair

Hey guys,

So the boat project had been put on hold for a few days due to a back injury but I went to the massage therapist and I think I'm ready to go. I was able to finish the bottom side of the floor wood with the epoxy and I laminated the transom pieces together. My wife and I cut a bit of the foam tonight together. I'll do the top of the wood tomorrow and it will be ready to install before I put the last coat of epoxy on. I'll put up pictures tomorrow if anybody cares. I had another question though about the bilge pump. The original had a switch at the instrument panel and it was a 500 gph pump. Do you suggest I switch to an automatic or should I stick with what I had? Also, should I upgrade to an 800 or 1000 gph pump? Does it even matter with a 16' boat? Also, are there different types or are they pretty much universal? Any suggestions would be great.

Okay I know I read about the types of rivets to use in my boat and something to dip them in but I can't find that specific forum. Could somebody fill me in on that?
