exhaust bellows

[River's Revenge]

The boat is a 1978 glastron cvx16ss, 140 hp 4 cylinder inline with a MC1 outdrive.

Tell me I don't have to remove the lower unit to replace this exhaust bellows that recently ripped in half. And if i don't have to remove the lower unit then is there any special tools that would make the job go easier. Oh and if the lower unit doesn't have to come off then which side should go on first? if it even matters?
