I have a 1985 Sea Ray Merc Cruiser Weekender---I pushed my neutral button in to warm my engine up, and my throttle revs fine but it won't go in gear, frontward or reverse---what could it be?
This may sound stupid but did the neutral button pop back out when you returned the lever to the neutral position? If not its jammed in throttle only mode. If so then the prob is deeper check shifter and cables?
