!994 Four winns Fling Engine Question

1994 four Winns fling. I can pick one of these up for 500.00 in really good shape. All it needs is the top end of the outboard. Can you use any outboard or does it have to be a certain make and model. Sorry if this sounds stupid i just dont have the slightest idea.

Well, I may be a "rude people" but you still haven't said what engine and outdrive you have, even after your edit.
No engine manufacture, no model numbers, no outdrive type, nothing. Yet you expect an answer.
