what to do with old fuel?

Each spring I find myself with 5-10 gal of 1:50 fuel left over from the previous year. Even tho I add fuel preserver to it, this old stuff doesn't work very well in my 2-stroke and sure doesn't do much in my chain saw.

What can I do with this stuff?

Thanks!

Put it in your lawn mower. Might want to skip the stabil and see if you have better luck. Only result I ever saw from using stabil in a 2 stroke was a whole lot of smoke and gunk in my snowmobile.

Lawn mower, older car, camp stove?
Professional disposal is pretty expensive.
We have a hazmat collection here twice a year. They will take it for free, but they make you leave it in the can you transport it in.

Personally, I have had good luck with old gas for the last 20 years.
I put stabil and Seafoam in it when purchased.
Make sure no water enters the tank.

Just used 2 or 3 year old gas in the old Johnson last week.
I don't use that motor much anymore, and when we needed a small motor in a pinch when my buddies motor broke, I didn't hesitate to grab the motor and old tank of fuel.

My grandpa used to use old gas to kill weeds in the driveway.. and old motor oil to kill bees and ants.

This isn't necessarily what I'd do but... I'm just sayin'!

Add some fresh fuel to it and use it in your outboard. Good heavens our boats up here in the tundra are stored for six months or more each year and provided the fuel has been stabilized it is perfectly usable in the spring.

each spring I dump my boat tank back in to a gas can and then burn it a little at a time mixed with this seasons gas. Never had a problem yet.

my Dad would change the oil in the 2 cars we had , and dump it in the storm drain in front of our house...he claimed it kept the merskeeters down...I grew up on Long Island NY...lol

I have been removing 5 gallons at a time, left the can out one night this week and someone (Faerie Maybe) took it away :)
