Carburetor Issues

I have a 1999 Bayliner Capri 1850 with a 3.0 liter Mercruiser. The carb is almost trash and I am looking to buy a remanufactured one but I can't find any numbers on it to see what I need. Does anyone know what carb goes on this engine? It is electric choke and 1 adjustment.

Also does anyone know what the rotation is for the propeller? Standard or counter clockwise. I believe it is counter.

Thanks

Re: Carburetor Issues

It's a Mercarb if it were a rochester it would have 2 air idle mixture screws.I went through the same issue last year and aftermarketmarine was the only one that was able to help me with a universal kit that fits all mercarbs but unfortunatly the only way to find out what number carb it is is to dimantle it and I believe the venturi number is the only way of telling which one it is along with it's jet numbers if I remember correctly. And I belive if you know your outdrive model number the service manuals in the adults only section can identify rotation direction.

Re: Carburetor Issues

Those small Mercruisers all are standard rotation. The only way it would be changed is if somone changed the lower for a counterotating one.Not likley.J
