Boat stays on the trailer, should I repaint the bottom paint?

I plan on repainting my new (to me) Aquasport and I am trying to make all of the right preparations. There is a coat of bottom paint that is in need of some attention and I'm not sure what to do about it. The previous owner kept it in the water but I plan on keeping it on the trailer. Should I re-paint it with bottom paint or is there a better idea? Thanks.

You have three choices. Leave it alone, paint over with bottom paint for appearance only, or strip off the bottom paint and paint with some polyurethane marine paint.

You cannot paint over bottom paint with anything but bottom paint, or it will look like dog sh*t, as the new paint flakes off
