Ok so this is my first outboard that I have owned. I am having trouble getting the thing to pump water. When i bought the motor it was not moving any water. My first step was to replace the impeller. So I called the local shop and had them look up the impeller for my outboard. Once I got the impeller i found out that the part evinrude called for was not the correct impeller for my lower gear case. I had to order a 1977 impeller to get the right key set up. From what they are telling me at the parts store i have an older lower gear case on the motor. Now i have got it all back and still nothing. Not even a drip. I have removed all the tubing from the 90 degree elbow coming out of the water jacket. Still nothing.
