i have a 35hp Chrysler, what could cause smoke coming from, seems like the water and looks like gas in the water?

Hey there, welcome to iboats.

Your motor is a 2 stroke motor, so it requires tcw-3 oil to be mixed with the gasoline.

These old design motors waste a lot of fuel. Some of the fuel goes unburnt, goes into the lake with the exhaust, but most of it gets burnt, so it smokes.

Contributing factors to the amount of smoke are things like the type of oil, the amount of oil, the carb settings- is it too rich?, the engine running temperature - is the thermostat working? etc.
