Hello,

Recently bought my first boat: a 2002 Lund Rebel 1650v with a 2001 Yamaha C40hp TLRZ.
Console with no gauges.

Can anyone recommend a tach for this setup?

Perhaps a better (dumb) question from this noob is....Why a tach? I mean how to use the information it gives me?
To monitor wot and idle rpms?

Thanks for your replies.

will tell if you are propped correctly, where to run the motor to get the best mileage, troubleshooting and finding problems with not performing like it use to, etc.

Re: 2001 Yamaha C40 TLRZ tachometer

Hey Silverfarm i have a 1998 C40 and just finished putting a gauge set in my boat. I bought a teleflex set from basspro and put in the boat including a tach, speedo, fuel, and volt meter.

Re: 2001 Yamaha C40 TLRZ tachometer

My C40TLRX has a 4 wire connector coming out of the remote control.
I hooked up the tach to the
Yellow for key on power
Black for ground
Green for signal

Red is hot all the time so I did not tie anything to it.

make sure the tach is set to 6 pulse.
