This weekend I got a few things done, like cleaned up half the basement workshop. Still needs vacuuming from sanding the boat windshield frames I glassed up down there (still a layer of glass/resin dust on stuff even thought I hung plastic sheets from the rafters).
One neat project that got done was to add manual control to the power antenna in the (new to me) 98 Firebird. In a nutshell, the power antenna goes up/down whenever the stereo is turned on/off, even if only playing CD's. To save the wear and tear, a manual overide was added. Now there is a 1/4" micro switch in the center console that will shut the antenna off (keep down), let the stereo run the antenna, or power the antenna up and leave it there.
Took about 6 hours to do, but a lot of that time was spent rummaging through boxes looking for all the components needed to do the job, taking breaks for dinner, drinking coffee, and a good hour trying to figure out why the stereo would not come out of the dash (wires hung up on support).
Anywho, I am in the office now. Got a load of mail to go through. So I better get my butt in gear....
