Good day to all
I picked up a 55 Durajet (Evinrude motor) from a Police auction.

I am sure that this motor had numbers at one point but they were removed by the previous ( I doubt I can say the previous owner ) holder of this motor.

It has been renumbered by the boys in blue but those numbers are for idenitity only.

The reason for this quest is I would like to add a starter but without a factory model/serial number number I am stuck.

What can I do?

Original numbers not still on a core plug somewhere on the powerhead?

Post some pictures. General ones of the ouside from all angles and some of the powerhead to show all the vital parts. Someone may then be able to narrow it down close enough for obtaining parts etc

Engine Serial number is probably 1993, possibly late 1992. The Durajet is custom and may have been converted later.

No. I use the iboats advanced search engine for similar serial numbers and try to fit the serial number to the range. For example, search G0312* and G312*.

A BRP dealer can get the actual information from BRP.

Just waiting for the camera batteries to charge up and I will post some pictures.

I was thinking it was early 90's too but there is no better place to find the correct answer to any boat question is to post your question here.

look for another welch plug...

I think one has a serial number and another might have the model number.

sometimes they are hidden under stuff...but sometimes you get lucky

From what I see it looks like a commercial 55 horse. Those are the loop-charged twins that were offered in 50, 55 & 60 horsepower, The commercial motor is a detuned 60 horse with a pull start and a taller cowling to clear the pull started assembly.
