Ayuh,... I found this in 1 of his other threads,....
Along with something about a 98 block that was self-built...
This is a 2000 Merc Alpha Gen II.

My Guess is,... He's looking for a listing of ALL of the Merc. igntions to see the timing advance maps...
It's also my Guess the difference between the 2 he's questioning, probably have something to do with the Alpha needing a shift Interupt switch...
Alpha, vs. Bravo...

Re: Ignition Timing maps

Thanks Bondo, I looked at his previous post, it was a V6, found the module numbers and the OEM service manual (#25) and the advance charts are't listed as Alpha or Bravo. Therefore they are the same.
Those part numbers are for the Ignition Control modules.
They work the same as far as advance characteristics go, the difference is in the shift interrupt system being built into the 861251T1 for the Alpha drives.

Re: Ignition Timing maps

Sorry guys, been busy with work.

Serial # 0L047164

1998+ 4.3 V6 Alpha Gen II

I'm not having troubles, but module case got cracked and exposed the silicone material inside. I'd rather fix it than leave it and if I replace I might as well make sure I am running on the right timing maps given my modifications.

So this means to me, that they are not interchangeable.

No, they are not interchangable, you need the one for the Alpha drive PN 861251T1.
