Okay I'm rebuilding my 1995 Mercruiser 3.0LX, sent the block, head and manifold to get checked and cleaned. Changed valve seals, main bearings, piston rings and bearings, the camshaft and bearings look new so I didn't touch them. (Bought the boat in July 2009). I mounted the crankshaft, which I also sent to get checked, pistons, oil pump and oil pan. When I checked the head bolts, some of them are corroded. My question is can I use bolts from a car motor or do they have to be from a boat? I use the boat in salt water.

If that engine is used in cars there, then sure. The 3.0L has never been used in cars here in the States. 'nutcase

I realy don't think it will make a difference as long as the grade, length, diameter and thread are correct you should be ok. I would think any GM dealer and or parts store could get them for you. It is a good idea to replace especially if corrosion is present and if there are any signs of thread stretch or wear.

Wouldn't the screws get rust if saltwater gets on them?

Saltwater, rainwater tapwater any! will make a screw rust if exposed.
