I recently pruchased johnson 35 sea horse motor. It came without tank. I bought a regular omc fuel connector but it won't seal and fuel squirts out .

Are there different fuel connectors and where do I find the proper one?

Engine is white and I don't know what year it it. Is there somewhere on the engine that lists year? mk:confused:

Look on the transom clamps for a plate, should list the model number. Is the connector pushed in all the way till it clicks, OMC have used the same connector since they went away from pressurized tanks in the 50's. With that being said some fit better than others especially in the aftermarket world. My buddy bought an aftermarket one, it won't seal on my 9.5 to save it's life however it works perfectly on my 9.9.

Probably a bad o-ring in the connector. Pick up a replacement at a Johnnyrude dealer. Make sure you get the right one - several different sizes.

thanks.

I bought one at academy sports and I was unable to get it to "click " in place. also, It seems there is a plastic flange problem where the post sticks out to make it go only in one direction.,

maybe one from Johnyrude will work right. mk

most aftermarket do leak. besure you have one for Johnson/Evinrude, there are 3 connectors that look a like, but are for other brands of motors.
