Hay Guys whats the difference rpms from a 3 blade to a 2 blade

Like the title says what is the difference between a 3 blade and a 2 blade ?? I got a 18 on there now 3 blade and I have a 2 blade 17 pitch that needs to be fixed !! and I am just wondering if the rpns pick up with a 2 blade !! thanks John

First we need to say its difficult to be too specific when comparing props of different design,maker, and material.
Yes generally a 2 blade will turn higher than a 3 my guess is 100 to 200 rpm
the drop in pitch will result in ABOUT 200 rpm higher.Again this is assuming
same brand,design,and material.

Ok cool !! there both brozne !! that should pick up 400 rpms , thats still 1000 more i need !!! I need to find a 15 pitch 2 blade !! thanks Steelerpike John

J, you will raise your RPM, but that doesn't mean that you won't have major prop slip that will cause your speed to be low. You need to give us some numbers for WOT RPM and speed for both props before you buy another prop.

John you should really tell us the details about your set up and what you are trying to accomplish. In my opinion a 2 blade is not as versitile as a 3.
Tell us your typical activities,load etc.
