4.3l with Alpha one has a small leak (trickle) below where the drive connects to the motor at the hull. Is there any risk to using a sealant product on the outside to attempt to seal? how major of a repair (hrs??) to correct.

Have you ever had a severe bottom strike?
Leakage from there indicates a rotted transom causing the housing to pull away from the fiberglass.Theres only one way to fix that, replace the transom wood.
It is leaking from the bottom of the plate that meets the hull. Very slow trickle. Small rock hit last weekend, prop and skeg small bend... Boat is a 96, could there be rot??
