it almost looks like it can do double duty as a tug boat. at top speed the middle 4 250's (ok, I never would have thought I would actually say that) would give power, and the outside four 250's (or that ) would be out of the water. But at tug/push power all 8 would be available to make a heck of a lot of bubbles in the water....

That pic's been around. The boat was used to run drugs (English channel I believe). That picture was taken when the boat was being auctioned off. Maybe the New Hampshire Marine Patrol was the winning bidder?? I don't know.

Old OMC worker I know claims OMC's V8 outboards were designed and marketed toward drug runners and the government agencies responsible for apprehending them.
I had seen this a few months back with a claim that it was a drug running boat. That said, if it was a US official craft of any kind, somebody should be investigating where all our hard earned "Homeland Security " tax's are being squirted away!
