I have a '74 eska 5 hp. My impeller in the water pump has all the fins curved. I looked online and new ones are not. The impeller fits very tight which i'm sure in time has caused mine to twist. Do I need to replace it or is mine still ok?

Re: impeller

After being compressed in the pump for years they take a permenant set. Your impeller may be still OK. Are there any cracks in it, missing fins, etc. Is it hard or still pliable. When I was young I had a few smaller motors that I would just flip the impeller over and let it go another year or so if it showed no signs of damage. Now I am retired I don't have the time I used to and am willing to spend a few bucks I replace the impeller any time I have to drop a lower end. Missing a days fishing just isn't worth the twenty or so bucks I saved.
