So, I have my boat all apart and am at the rebuilding stage. I am almost where I need to glass the engine mount back in.. but I have no idea where it goes

Is there some measurement I can use to find out exactly where to put it? Say, 32 inches forward of the inside edge of lowest transom screw hole? Why oh why I didn't think to measure this on the tear down I have no idea.

Is there anyone out here who has their 3.0L lifted out currently and can make a measurement for me? I checked the manual to no avail; It doesn't even show you the transom hole dimensions.

I wish there was a "boat builder" edition of the Mercruiser manual.

Thanks for any help you guys can give, as I'm screwed without this measurement. :(

Dude,

I would verify with one more to confirm, but the aft edge of my engine mount stringer is 27" from the transom. (port and starboard sides.) And my stringer is ~ 4" wide. The mounting bolts are not perfectly centered in the stinger, more forward then aft.

Hope this helps.

Thanks bear. I can't believe i was so dumb as to assume I would remember the exact placement of the mount bolt

In doing some searches I found this, which should help others in my predicament :)

That PDF shows every measurement you could ever want to know about the engine placement. Thank you Mercury Marine and Google!

What I didn't know, is Brunswick has a full search engine for manuals, which is awesome!

That link brings you to every technical drawing used for mercruiser engine and outdrive installs with direct links to the PDFs.

Here is a link to the PDF of a transom hole template for Alpha/Bravo drives.
