Another "What is this?" thread (pic)

This time, the category is: insects
Location of origin: NW Mississippi

Never seen one of these around here before. Got kind of a dragonfly-mosquito-mayfly look to it. Tips of it's wings are feathered. Flys like it's drunk. Unable to recognize ceiling fan as a threat.

I believe it's a variety of the dragonfly family. We called then "witch doctors" when I was a kid. Don't know where this name came from. Someone had to have told us.

Damsel Fly? They are similar to a dragon fly, but look more fragile.

Looks like an Ant Lion (Glenurus gratus) to me.

I don't know, but it is carries a highly contagious and extremely deadly virus on its feet and anything living that it lands on will die, rot, and fall off.:eek::eek: Good thing you don't need that hand, Spots! :p;):D
