1990 4.3l v6 run issues

I have a 1990 caravelle with a 4.3l v6. i can get the boat to start but as soon as i let off the ign the boat dies. new starter, battery, if i lay on the starter it will continue to run but like i said when i let off it dies. Any ideas on why??? need help soon

does it die instantly after letting off key? sounds like you don't have CONSTANT power to ignition system. ignition switch has a START circuit, with a seperate RUN circuit. power should switch from start mode to run mode when motor starts after cranking. verify you have 12.5 volts at coil with key in the RUN position. go from there.

Ayuh,... Sounds like you Screwed up the Wiring,...
Go back,+ Find the wire that Ain't hooked up....

wellya it dies rght after and are you talking about the ign coil... but i am gonna run through all the wiring in the next day or two so ill give a heads up an if you know of any other ideas as far as what could be wrong thanks...
