Parts for 68 Evinrude Electric Shift Solenoid Assembly

I am looking for parts for a 68 Evinrude Model #55873R Electric Shift Solenoid Assembly. Specifically, I am looking for the rod within the assembly(not sure of the actual technical name for the rod). Currently, the boat only runs in forward, and will not shift to neutral or reverse. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated on how to resolove this issue. I have been looking on the internet for parts and haven't been successful.

What is wrong with the rod that's in it? Is it damaged, or missing?

The rod is broke in half.

I do believe I have that rod your looking for. I have a spare 1969 55 hp Evinrude with mice eaten wiring. Everthing else is ok. Send me a picture of the rod and I will see if it's the same one. Im sure it is.
