I was and still am having tach issues,my motor has the 3 wire rectifier part# 582399,where would i hook the tach sending wire to?I currently have it hooked up to the yellow/grey wire from the stator and at idle it reads around 2000 rpm or a little more.which is at least 1000 more than what it really is.Any ideas?

Thinking motor is an 1987 rude 88 spl

Re: tachometer

You are supposed to use the yellow/gray, but it really doesn't matter which yellow wire you use. You have set the switch on the back of the tach for the right number of poles, haven't you?
