merc 85' 115hp tilt motor stuck!!!

Preppin my boat for spring when I noticed the trim motor is not working...well was working and just stopped working. My brother said it could have ran out of hydrollic fluid? if so, where is resevoir? Please help, fish are biting!!!

sounds like an electrical or tilt motor problem.

Tap on the tilt motor with somthing with some weight!!! It has worked for me!!

Just make sure that you have electricity before you go beating.Is it making any noise and just not going up or down?

It was, but stopped shortly after I raised the motor very sluggishly. Now I hear nothing. No clicking etc. Is there a fuse?

motor is binding,it has a bymetal contact in the motor,that is activated by heat at the comutater head assy. on the electric motor.
