i just bought my first boat a 74 runabout with a 1970 evinrude 60 hp
the guy i bought it from messed up the wiring for the ignition in the controls i'm pretty sure i got that straitened out but when i turn the key nothing happends no clicks nothing ???the ignition has 1 red w/purpleish stripe
1 white and 4 purple wires ...
the guy at the boat shop said try not to buy anything until you find out if i had good compretion so i really just want the motor to turn over for me and it feels like i'm starting from scrach any help ???

What are the terminals on the back of the ignition switch marked?

yes red bat purple ign white acc. the purplr wires are in 2 sets 1 set goes to the choke and shift box the other set 1wire goes the the HOT light and the other goes into the control cable to the motor
