Long story. Driver was too rough while pulling towable toy. Now my boat acts like a straight shift car with a bad clutch. Takes off okay but when I give it more throttle it just revs up and doesn't go any faster. I suspect the hub is spinning in the prop. Is there something else I may need to look for? How would you diagnose this problem?

Don... ya mean it acts like an automatic transmission? When low of fluid it slips?

No, when low on oil, it destroys the clutch cone and bearings.
Check the level (with dipstick) and see where it's at.
