water in oil on 165 merc 6 cyl..

hey there i was wondering what would be the problem for water in the oil would it be a cracked head worped head or a head gasket??? and yea the boat was winterized right for draining the motor and using antifreeze. if it is any of the above (warped or cracked) how would i fix it. it is a cast steel head also on the motor. thanks gfor the time guys

A cylinder leak down test will expose a warped head or bad head gasket.
If you had one of these conditions, you would have noticed it the last time the engine was operated.

It could be something as simple as a head gasket to a cracked block. Do you live in an area where the motor was subjected to freezing temperatures? Was it winterized?

yes it had been put away right for the winter but strange things happen too lool thanks guys !!! it was the the head gasket with a REALLY bad corner on it so tonight i have to pick it up from order and put it on hopin to be on the water this weekend if everything goes good. so if you got any tips and/or tricks for putting it back together it would be awsome
